A change from fall weather to summer humidity greeted 26 runners in the 10k and 20 kids in the ¾ mile race. Joe Courage, Asbury Grove youth chapel leader for the summer, led the 10k race from the start and finished almost 2 minutes ahead of 2nd place finisher Sal Genovese, a marine biologist from Marblehead. Ana Hubert of Melrose was the first woman for the fourth time. Both winners received a gift certificate from New England Running Company in Beverly. John Robertson left early and finished late and ran about 6 miles. All participants enjoyed the hamburgers and hot dogs inside the Asbury Grove Dining Hall.
